Granite is an igneous rock and an excellent choice for countertops due to its exceptional quality. It’s highly resistant to scratches, impervious to nearly all chemicals, and typically features a highly polished finish – with the exception of flamed granite, which has a much rougher texture.

Cleaning polished granite can be tricky and may even result in a worse appearance if not done correctly. It’s usually best to enlist a professional tile cleaner, such as FCS, to help re-polish these surfaces. Fortunately, the polish on granite tends to last much longer than on most stones, meaning it requires significantly less maintenance overall.
